At St. Philothea Greek Orthodox Church we have many programs for young and old to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Adult Religious Education (ARE)
Inquirers' Class
This class, to discuss the Faith and Traditions of the Greek Orthodox Christian Church, is open to everyone-- to those Orthodox who have been baptized and chrismated in the faith and want to enrich their understanding and to those who are seeking to learn more about Orthodox Christianity and are considering being received into the Church.
Class will meet on scheduled Wednesday evenings from 7:15 pm to 8:30 pm and runs from September to February, every year.

- Topics include: Theology and Doctrine, Liturgics and Worship, Spirituality and Art, Holy Tradition and Scripture. We will also have special classes to learn to bake the Prosforon (Offering Bread), Artoklasia (5 Loaves of Thankfulness) and to prepare Koliva (for Memorials).

Great Lent Wednesday Night Book Discussion
During Great and Holy Lent, we take time to focus on spiritual growth in Christ. Every Wednesday of Lent we come for the Liturgy of the Presanctified Gifts at 6:00 pm followed by a humble lenten meal and book discussion. Book will be announced by start of Triodion.

Youth Catechetical Programs
- Sunday School is available for all children from Nursery to High School. Currently we have 3 classes for Nursery - Kindergarten ages, 1st - 5th Graders and 6th through 12th Graders.
- Catechesis of the Good Shepherd - for 3 - 6 year olds. Special "Montessori-style" educational and spiritiual program for our littlests of saints.
- SJCOF - Saint John Chrysostom Oratorical Festival is a National Oratorical program for 7th through 12th graders. Students give speeches at in the local parish level and can move up to the Conference, Metropolis and Archdiocesan levels where scholarship awards can be earned. Click here for: Topics and Guidelines
- Vacation Church School 4 Day program in June that is held at our church and open to the public.
Bookstore
- Our Bookstore offers many titles to educate and inspire us in our faith and daily living. Other items such as prayer ropes, icons, incense and cookbooks are also available.
Lending Library

- The Lending Library is located in the large classroom and has many wonderful books, cd's and DVD's. Be sure to fill the forms in the Lending-Binder with your name phone number, book title and date of borrow.
